Edna Mae Palmer passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday March 9, 2019 at the age of 85. Lovingly remembered by her son Mark Palmer (Donna) of Hamilton, daughters Debra Duncan (Dan) of Goderich, Christine Moran (John) of Guelph and Lorelei Petrie (Dave) of London. Greatly loved and missed by 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Amanda, Angela, Scott, Darryl, Tristan, Melissa, Derek, Chantelle, and Aislin as well as 10 great-grandchildren, Lejla, Sabina, Aydin, Hannah, Duncan, Seth, Fern, Sydney, Ethan and Carter. Predeceased by her husband of nearly 46 years Lester Palmer (2001), father Robert Bell (1961), mother Lillian Bell (1968), brother Ken Bell (1973), and sister Margaret Pauli (2008). Also survived by sister-in-law Shirley Bell of Stratford and several nieces and nephews.
Edna worked for many years as Cashier at Union Gas in Stratford and later years in Goderich. After raising their family, Edna and Les moved to Goderich in 1990 just a 20 minute drive from their cottage overlooking Lake Huron. Edna returned to Stratford December 2015 to live at Cedarcroft Place Retirement Residence. Our Mom taught us to live with integrity and to love fiercely. Mom has finally been able to go "Home" and we will miss her to the end of our days. As our Mom wished, cremation has taken place with a private Family gathering to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Alzheimer Society or any other Charity of your choice directly or through Rutherford Cremation & Funeral Services. 519-271-5062.

To Edna’s Family – Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your Mom. Edna and I attended Hamlet Public School and SCVI together. She was a very special friend and a wonderful person! Each time I drive by her house on Wellington Street, I remember our happy, fun times. (My Dad resided at Cedarcroft Place. Our family home was next door at 244 Church Street.) Do know my caring thoughts are with you. Norma (Dunn) Clare, London Ontario

Thank you Stuart. You have been so kind and treated our Mom like the treasure she is. Your warmth and compassion helped us in saying our goodbyes as we were reeling from our loss. Your patience and gentle sense of humour in assisting with Mom's arrangements are appreciated more than words can say.

Thank you Michael, Cathy and Josh. You have always been there for me over the years while our family went though the changes in our Mom's life. My Mom would have loved you and your family if she'd had the pleasure of meeting all of you. You have always been willing to listen and give your awesome hugs and encouragement when times got tough. I am truly fortunate in being able to call you friends.
