Condolence: My sympathies on the loss of Helen. She was a very good friend to my mother, Elma Barkley, since they first met at Ontario St. Baptist Church. Mom often mentioned the wonderful conversations she and Helen had, discussing everything from religion to politics. They had many trips to First Baptist in St. Mary's together. Helen was with my mother when she fell and broke her hip and stayed with her at the hospital until family could arrive from out of town. She became a good friend to my siblings and I, as she would visit the nursing home and keep us all informed on what was happening. I shall miss the correspondence we shared for some years now. She spoke with such love and pride of her wonderful family. You are all in my prayers and thoughts.
Condolence: My sympathy to the family. As part of the First Baptist Church family in St
Marys, I have many fond memories of Helen at many church functions and working on committees with her. For many years, Helen would adjourn our business meetings (no seconder required). She had a great love for her feline friends and many of the stories she shared with me were about her cats. She also shared many stories about her family. She was a faithful servant of her saviour Jesus.
