Obituary

Inge Weinheimer, in her 87th year, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2020.

Born in Marienwerder(West Prussia) Germany - Inge is survived and sadly missed by son Michael and family (Amanda, Dillon and Natalie) and son Mario and family (Nathan, Marcus). She was predeceased by her true love and best friend Gunter with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.

Inge immigrated to Canada in 1954 and worked extremely hard in building a life together with Gunter. They were grateful and proud to be Canadian. Together they eventually founded the Suburban Motel in Stratford in 1963 and owned and operated it until their retirement in 1997. In her childhood years she suffered the hardships of wartime. By the age of 12, forced by circumstances into responsibility for her 4 younger siblings - they fled their home as refugees ahead of the advancing Russian army – trauma, which shaped her life and strengthened her. Quiet and reserved, her devotion to Gunter and family were the focal points of her life. She was thoughtful, a great cook, a traveller and enjoyed gardening. Inge was a life-long member of St. Joseph's Church. Special thanks to all the wonderfully kind people at Spruce Lodge for their caring, compassion and selfless devotion. We are humbled by your generous spirit.

Cremation has taken place and a private service and internment will take place at a later date.
