Obituary for Irene Charlotte Maehle
Irene Charlotte Maehle passed away peacefully at Hillside Manor on September 28, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Stratford on November 12, 1963, Irene attended Portia School, then Frederick Industries and lived for many years with Community Living before moving to Hillside Manor.
Irene is survived by sister Joan (Jeff), brother Michael, and stepbrother Waldemar (Scott). She was predeceased by her father Nikolaus (1972), mother Hilde (2012) and infant sister Barbara (1958).
Irene was very active, participating in Tai Chi, swimming lessons, going to movies, attending church, and enjoying visits to the spa. Irene’s favourite pastime was browsing through the latest fashion magazine and enjoying her bead collection. Irene loved to socialize, and held a special fondness for Swiss Chalet, chocolate and coffee. Holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving were very important to Irene as it meant celebrating with friends and family.
Irene will be remembered for her loving personality, her smile, and her hugs will be missed.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 22 at the Stratford Legion, 804 Ontario Street, from 2pm-4:30pm. Donations may be made to Hillside Manor Residence Council or the Alzheimer Society of Perth County (www.alzheimer.ca/perth) directly, or through the James A.
