I've just come across Joan's obituary today. I'm the minister of the Norval United Church in Georgetown. Joan received My Daily Minute, an e-devotional that we send out. We emailed back and forth over the years. Our Prayer Purls knitting group sent Joan a prayer shawl a couple of years ago. I checked our database and the last Daily Minute she opened was on Nov 15th. She also clicked the video that day and she would have heard "When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed... Count your blessings, name them one by one." Here's the Daily Minute she would have read. https://conta.cc/3arN2TZ I am thankful to have known her from a distance. May she rest in peace, safe from all life's billows now.

Joan was such a lovely lady. When I was a kid I used to write letters to aunt Hannah (my grandpa Jim Vance's sister.) After she died wrote to her daughter Gladys Wilson and then started writing to Joan. We wrote snail mail and then email for many years. I loved getting her letters about her church activities, and her family. She loved her family so much. RIP Joan you will be deeply missed. Deepest sympathy to all tthe family. Thank you for calling me Jonni.
