Joan was such a lovely lady. When I was a kid I used to write letters to aunt Hannah (my grandpa Jim Vance's sister.) After she died wrote to her daughter Gladys Wilson and then started writing to Joan. We wrote snail mail and then email for many years. I loved getting her letters about her church activities, and her family. She loved her family so much. RIP Joan you will be deeply missed. Deepest sympathy to all tthe family. Thank you for calling me Jonni.

Aunt Joan, MY Aunt Joan,
A strong woman who loved her family beyond all else.
My earliest memories of life include you Aunt Joan, how Mom and I would come to Stratford sometimes in the dead of night for refuge with you and your boys. My doll named Aunt Joan that gave me comfort just as your hugs did.
For the rest of her life you and Mom exchanged cards and letters weekly even after you had each remarried and begun "new" lives you never forgot each other or stopped loving each others children. My whole life if there was one constant it was a card in the mail for my birthday signed " With Love, Aunt Joan Uncle Dennis and the 4 J's". You NEVER forgot, not once!
After Mom was gone you promised to take over and always remember me, you did. Always thinking of Mom and me whenever you saw a hummingbird, now they remind me of you too.
After Uncle Dennis was gone and you began visiting Ottawa with Jonni to see Matthew and his little ones, your visits made me so grateful. Remembering a special treat for the dog or Denis, the hummingbird table you gave me cherished and loved memories.
You will be riding your bike in a different neighbourhood now Aunt Joan, please give all those at the party waiting for you a great big hug for me. The gardener, the painter and especially the writer, they will all be there with tea, hugs and stories to share.

Thank you for loving me Aunt Joan,
Always Hugs & Love Kathy Denis & All
