Ronald Charles Walker - With his family present, Ron Charles Walker of Pine Lake Family Campground in Bayfield, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus Christ, His Lord on October 8, 2020, in his 80th year.

Ron was the beloved partner of Sandy Thomson, the loved and missed father of Virginia Hillock (Shayne), and Paul Walker (Janet), and their mother Margaret Cayer. The step-father of Debbie Chesney (Harold), Penny McInnis (Shawn), Jennifer Johnston (Michael), Robert Boak (Julie), and Candance Pink (Brad) and much loved grandpa of Shannon, Shane, Drew, and Taylor. Step-grandfather of Cody, Daniel, Sara McKee (Alex), Scott, Hannah, Connor, Wyatt, Zoe, Branson, Ben, Kalvin, and Audrey. Proud great-grandfather of Aiden McKee.

The oldest in a family of five siblings, Ron is survived by his brother David Walker (Marilyn), sister Jacqueline Strittmatter (Udo), brother Ian Walker (Bonny), and sister-in-law Theda Cook and is lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Ron is predeceased by his parents John and Shirley Walker (nee McLeod), wife Joan Walker, and his younger brother Douglas Walker.

Ron enjoyed all aspects of life, including, work, sports, leisure, family, and friends. He was a life-long fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Blue Jays. With a giving sense of humour, Ron was known as a generous, kind-hearted, and loyal friend. A man with a strong faith, and a positive, practical outlook on life. Due to Ron's vast experience, he excelled in every role and position he held, gaining everyone’s respect. Facing a long battle with cancer, Ron fought with courage and faith, practicality, and hope.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. R. Malthaner and the staff at LHSC, as well as the comfort provided by One Care Home and Community Support Services, Goderich, and St. Elizabeth Health Care serving Bayfield and region. Your compassion, professionalism, and dedication is admired and deeply appreciated. Special thanks to Ron’s long-term caregivers; his nurse, Jessica Bentley, and his personal support worker, Janet McDougall.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at a later date. Ron will be dearly missed by family, best friend Pastor Paul Knauer and many special friends.
